Posted On: 06/09/2023 Terrible experience and unprofessional service. The dentist and staff were rude and dismissive, and I felt discriminated against based on race and skin color.

I was scheduled for a filling. While on my way to the appointment, I called the office to confirm my visit. The front desk associate informed me that they had given my appointment to another patient because I had not responded to their text messages. I explained that I had been out of the country and do not respond to texts while traveling. I was then told to still come in, but once I arrived, it was made clear that I would have to wait because my original appointment slot was no longer available.

Dr. Roth appeared visibly upset about my lack of response to text messages and phone calls. He asked unnecessary and intrusive personal questions about how I communicate while outside the U.S., which was completely irrelevant to my dental care. I also mentioned that the office had called and texted excessively, which seemed to further irritate him.

The overall tone felt hostile and punitive, as if I was being blamed for not responding to messages, even after explaining my situation. I was made to feel that I deserved to wait simply because I had not replied to their texts.

I requested my dental records at the front desk. During this process, both the doctor and staff made uncomfortable facial expressions, rolled their eyes, and behaved unprofessionally.

While I waited for my file, the front desk staff continued scheduling other patients over the phone and made no effort to assist me. I was told that only the doctor could answer questions about the timeline for releasing my records, even though he was with another patient. I was intentionally left waiting in the lobby. When I asked for a timeframe, the front desk associate accused me of being rude. When I asked whether the office has cameras or recordings to support that claim, the staff went silent.

Based on the overall treatment, I strongly feel that I was treated unfairly and ganged up on because of my race and skin color.

Additionally, the quality of care is poor. When patients ask questions or request detailed explanations about procedures, the staff becomes irritated and defensive. The office appears more focused on pushing fillings and procedures—which generate higher revenue—than on prioritizing routine cleanings or patient care. They also frequently change hygienists at their convenience without notifying patients.

During one cleaning, a hygienist nearly poked my face with a sharp dental instrument. In hindsight, I should have written a review then.

The dentist does not routinely check patients during cleanings, yet charges for it. When questioned, he stated that he only sees patients upon request.

Overall, I do not believe this office provides quality care. There are many better dental offices in Folsom that treat patients with professionalism, respect, and transparency. K C website Logo Google Review
